August Horoscope 2025: A Whirl Wind of Change

We take on some of the karma from last month with Mercury retrograde which clears up on August 11th with Mercury going direct bringing more clarity to thinking and communication. Mars enters Libra bringing a desire for harmony in our connections with others.

The Sun in Leo continues to blaze a trail of joy, confidence, leadership and self expression until it goes into hardworking, detail orientated perfectionist Virgo on August 22nd. This is when we can really become more grounded and settled after all this fire energy.

We are still riding the changes from all five major outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all changing signs in one year. This is a change that we will be integrating over the next two decades.

It can feel like a whirlwind of change, a bit like everything is up in the air, attempting to sort out a bunch of new ideas, surges of inspirations and perspectives. Yet there can be a lot of battling and confusion as humanity is attempting to figure it all out as the old paradigm has just been swept from under our feet very rapidly. With Saturn and Neptune in Fire signs and Uranus and Pluto in Air signs, this dynamic and extroverted energy is forcing us to take action, to be bold and give life to our ideas such as in the Saturn sextile Uranus on August 12th where systems can be innovated.

This dance between the planets will continue to influence us and generate tremendous societal change.

August 1st Venus square Saturn and Neptune

It could feel like relationships (Venus)  are met with limitations, feeling of inadequacy and emotional blocks on this day (Saturn.) There could also be feelings of escapism and confusion (Neptune.) It is best to have grounded compassion, and realistic ideals in relationships to navigate this influence graciously.

August 6th Mars enters Libra 

After months of transit of action orientated and passionate Mars in the practical, detail orientated and sometimes critical workhorse sign of Virgo, signs shift into Libra.

Libra is in detriment in Libra meaning it is not as comfortable in that sign, as Mars being the planet of aggressiveness and Libra the sign of peace. 

The strengths of this combination is the peaceful warrior archetype, the courage of the diplomat, The passionate lover, the active artist and the urge for action and aggression will all be channeled into peace keeping, diplomacy, social skills, balance, harmony, beauty, art and tact.

This may mean we may be a bit more hesitant to rub others the wrong way.

August 9th Full Moon in Aquarius and Mars trine Uranus

This Full Moon can bring breakthroughs and epiphanies around themes of individuality, revolution, freedom, friendship and future goals. The day of the Full Moon can increase emotional displays and intensity. Be careful of how this energy can be expressed as Aquarius is also a very rebellious sign.

Courage and excitement come together easily with Mars trine Uranus so this can be a time where we feel more confident doing things a bit differently than usual, yet be careful not to overdo it.

August 9th Mars opposite Saturn and Neptune

It could feel like our actions can be opposed by reality checks, confusion and limitations. This could be frustrating. We have to learn to compromise with others. Burning this energy off with some hard work combined with something creative would be an excellent release.

August 10th Mars trine Pluto

Courage and willpower flow together easily this day which can make us more resilient, influential, transformational and bold in our actions. Watch out for a tendency to be manipulative or get obsessive over what you want. 

August 11th Mercury Direct: You have officially survived Mercury retrograde

With Mercury direct after three weeks retrograde over the upcoming two weeks Mercury themes will begin to slowly move forward: New projects, major decision making, travel, technology and communication.

During the retrograde these things most likely went haywire, with delays, confusion, mis-communication and errors in thinking.

August 12th Venus Conjunct Jupiter

The planet of love, relationships, money and luxury (Venus)  joins together with the planet of expansion, opportunities, prosperity, joy and wisdom (Jupiter) in the sign of Cancer (healing and nurturing.)

This can signify a time of great expansion, healing, prosperity and openings in regards to finance and relationships.

Yet there is an equal opportunity for over indulgence, over confidence, laziness and over spending if we are not careful.

August 12th Saturn Sextile Uranus

It can feel like a relief as systems, responsibilities and long term goals (Saturn) can be enhanced by flashes of insight, innovations and progressive change (Uranus.) We can see this within our personal lives and in the world as well. The ideas were there the whole time we just had to open our eyes to perceive them.

August 15th Mercury sextile Mars

Communication is enhanced by assertion and courage on this day. If you have something to say that you are afraid to say or need to win in a debate, this is your day.

August 22nd Sun enters Virgo

The Sun transits the sign of Virgo until September 22nd 2025

The transit of the Sun in Leo highlighted dignity, pride, courage, strength, self expression, creativity, celebration, leadership, joy and playfulness

Now with the Sun in the practical and detail orientated sign Virgo the focus until September 22nd 2025 is on analysis, discrimination, organization, precision, routines, diet and health.

We must guard against critical attacks on others and ourselves, focusing on the negative, Working ourselves too hard and worry.

We have to be careful of entitlement and battles over pride.

Relationships can be in opposition to intensity, transformation and healing. This could manifest as power struggles, manipulation and obsession in relationships.. Relationships with others can be particularly deep and intense. We may project these shadow qualities onto others. We have to learn to compromise.

There can be complete turn arounds and non conforming ways of thinking when it comes to love, spirituality and our ideals with this transit. It will affect us in our personal lives as well as in the outer world.
