October Horoscope 2025: A Hall of Mirrors and Transformation.

Overview for the month

October in a lot of ways is just integration of the two eclipses that we experienced in September that created lasting changes for the next three to six months. 

The Sun continues in the intellectual sign of Libra (the scales) for a good portion of the month, influencing us all with the principles of peace, harmony, justice, negotiation, relationships, beauty, art, tranquility and the idea of love until the 21st when it changes signs. We come to understand ourselves through the interactions we have with the external world and our relationships with others as mirrors.

To find the perfect balance without losing too much of ourselves in the process is the goal.

We have a lot of interesting aspects occurring to Mercury and Venus this month as well as Neptune retrograding back into Pisces for some months. Pluto goes direct bringing transformations and powerful changes to do with social change, humanity into the world of external events and the Sun going into Scorpio on the 21st which starts a thirty day cycle of metamorphosis and intense exploration of deep emotions and mystery. 

October 1st Mercury square Jupiter 

This transit could make us overconfident and exaggerate when it comes to our thoughts and speech. It could make us talk too much or even make us preachy if we are not careful.

If we use this tension correctly our intellectual interest could be aimed toward education, different viewpoints and seeing the bigger picture. It can help us weed out beliefs that keep our mind closed to new perspectives.

October 6th Mercury enters Scorpio 

Mercury, the planet of icy cold logic, mental processing and communication is leaving fair, balanced and relationship orientated Libra and entering intense, deep and transformative Scorpio where it will stay there until October 29th.

During this time our thoughts and speech may be a bit more interested in mystery, the taboo and getting to the bottom of things. Perhaps with a bit of obsession, cunning and intensity. We can completely renew our thinking processes at this time.

October 7th Mercury squares Pluto

This planetary relationship can point to obsessive thinking, manipulation words or scheming, black and white ideology and focus on narrow pursuits. If we take this route it can leave us in a fearful space, where we could end up just feeling empty.

Yet if we take the higher route of becoming aware of this shadow aspect of our thoughts, we can release a lot of painful ways of thinking and speech and communicate more truthfully and from our heart, in a way that inspires and heals.

October 7th Full Moon at 14 degrees Aries

A Full Moon marks a time where the intentions that we cast six months ago at the New Moon in Aries comes to a close. Yet it is also a time of revelation and creating a balance between our personal needs for independence (Aries) and the balance of that with our relationships with others (Libra the opposite sign.)

October 8th Venus sextile Jupiter

For the next six days there will be a lot of planets aspecting Venus, the planet of love and relationships (and finance!)

Any harmonious Jupiter transit to Venus can bring luck, opportunities, ease and expansion in relationships and finance. Yet we can sleep on it too if we take it for granted.

October 11th Venus opposite Saturn

Our relationships (Venus) can be met with outside restrictions, reality checks and responsibilities.

October 13th Venus opposite Neptune

On top of relationships taking on a more serious tone we also have to balance the practicality of relationships (Venus in Virgo) with compassion, love and ideals. It could be a flip flop of noticing flaws in people and or looking right past them.

October 13th Venus enters Libra

After Venus traveled in its fall through its challenging placement in the sign of Virgo for some weeks, highlighting precision, purity, perfection and practicality, it now enters its home sign Libra.

This means that it feels more natural here and its qualities can be expressed more easily.

Love and affection can take on tact, grace, harmony and consideration. Fairness, beauty, art and eloquence can be favored.

We have to watch out for superficiality, indecision and pleasing people.

October 14th Venus trine Uranus and Pluto

This aspect brings excitement, independence and the unexpected  (Uranus) to relationships (Venus) in an easy way as well as make us more personally magnetic, powerful and influential at this time (Pluto.)

October 14th Pluto Direct in Aquarius

During this Pluto retrograde process we have had an opportunity to reflect on how we use our power, about our destiny, our ability to transform and heal, our shadows, our wounds and our legacy. Most particularly in regards to freedom, humanity and originality. (Pluto in Aquarius) 

Now with Pluto direct instead of this process happening internally behind the scenes it can now move forward in external events. Expect there to be some upheaval as people find power in their independence, originality and communities (Pluto in Aquarius) and there can be a continued healing of humanity as we shed the separations that keep us from unifying.

October 20th (transit is two days)  Mercury conjuncts Mars at 19 degrees

When Mercury and Mars joined together in the same sign, conversations (Mercury) can be a lot more intense (Mars) and passionate (Scorpio.) Our minds can be highly focused on our goals and we can become courageous detectives turning over every rock to get to the bottom of things.

We have to be careful about letting our cunning and aggression get the best of us, which could create some enemies, especially if our words cut like daggers (Mercury in Scorpio) or reveal hidden information people are not ready to be aware of yet.

October 21st New Moon at 28 degrees Libra

This kicks off a two week cycle of brand new intentions to do with harmony, relationships, justice, compassionate detachment, peace, the idea of love and fairness, negotiation, compromise and beauty.

October 22nd Neptune leaves Aries

Neptune entered Aries on March 30th 2025 and went retrograde on July 4th 2025. With Neptune in the first sign of the zodiac Aries it started a brand new fourteen year cycle.

Neptune represents dreams, vision, spirituality and ideals and this fueled ideals of independence, spiritual warriors, courageous visions as well as pioneering dreams for the collective.

Now Neptune will be retrograding back into Pisces through January revisiting themes of compassion and unity as well as escapism, deception and self sabotage for the collective.

October 23rd-November 21st The Sun enters Scorpio 

The Sun takes the spotlight away from balanced, relationship orientated and harmonious Libra and enters intense, transformative and powerful Scorpio initiating a thirty day cycle of metamorphosis, heightened energy levels, laser focus, inner exploration and shadow work.

This can be a time of emotional extremes as we become really real with ourselves about our true desires and instincts, questioning life, death and the mysteries of the universe.

Be on the guard for obsessive thinking, revenge, manipulation, ruthlessness and paranoia.

October 24th Sun square Pluto 

This aspect can get us into powerful struggles with those in authority if we are not careful. We may have an inflated ego and want to lord over others, or take pride in being able to get what we want in an under handed way.

If we use this dynamic constructively we can make some powerful changes in regards to our life direction though we will have to let go of some things which will be a healing process.

October 24th Mercury trine Jupiter

Communication can be more easily optimistic and broad minded. Opportunities to expand our minds can present themselves readily.

October 25th Mercury trine Saturn

We can bring self discipline, serious focus (Mercury trine Saturn)  to whatever opportunities presented themselves yesterday.

October 27th Mars trine Jupiter

Our drive to succeed can be a lot more confident, triumphant and expansive with this aspect. Watch out for over confidence.

October 29th Mercury opposite Uranus and Mercury trine Neptune

This aspect could make communication a bit erratic as we could flip flop between coherent thought and speech and become so excited and disruptive (even inappropriate) in how we express ourselves that we could alienate others. We could come up with a lot of ideas out of the blue.

The soft trine to Neptune can add a bit more compassion and sensitivity to our communications to lessen the insensitivity of the Uranus opposition.

October 29th Mercury enters Sagittarius

When Mercury was in Scorpio speech and the thought processes were centered around emotional depths, mystery, intrigue and transformation. Now with Mercury in Sagittarius the mind is more focused on beliefs, philosophies, perspective, optimism and adventure.

Mercury is in detriment here as it is more to do with careful analysis and the details, while Sagittarius often skips the details and looks for a more intuitive understanding of the universe.

October 30th Mercury trine Saturn 

Another Mercury Saturn aspect this month brings a more serious, practical tone to our thoughts and communications.

October 30th Jupiter trine Saturn

We can have a bit more faith in our goals and responsibilities, as well as the discipline and focus to bring our visions to earth and manifest opportunities into tangible terms.

October 31st  Mercury sextile Pluto

This aspect gives us an opportunity to be powerfully influential with our words, writing, speech and ideas.
